My Independence at HOME is committed to providing the very best in caregivers to ensure that you receive the care you need and deserve, while also feeling comfortable and safe. Simply put; we would never place someone in your home whom we wouldn't feel comfortable placing with a loved one of our own. Your safety is equally as important as the assistance you receive.  

Below is the screening process every aide undergoes as an employee of My Independence at HOME: 

  • Proof of Certification
  • In-depth Screening/Interview
  • State of Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
  • National Criminal Background Check
  • Medicare/Medicaid Fraud Check
  • Sexual Predator Background Check
  • Child Abuse Background Check
  • PPD and Hepatitis B Testing
  • Annual Flu Shot
  • Competency Exam
  • 12 Hour Orientation/Training

We further note that background checks, vaccinations and performance reviews are conducted on an annual basis. Additionally, employees are required to take part in annual training which consists of an overview of state/industry mandates; agency updates and review of all topics covered in the 12 hour initial orientation.
